Hi, I’m Steph.
I’m a passionate and experienced People professional, Chartered Member of the CIPD, and ILM Level 7 accredited executive coach.
I set up HEvans People Services to play my part in helping businesses, teams and individuals to thrive through people power.

Learning as we go
During my time as a director of an established tour operator, and co-founder of a tech start-up in the events sector, I learned many valuable business lessons.
I experienced how hard it is to survive day to day in a challenging financial landscape and to navigate the myriad challenges that come your way - let alone to find ways to innovate and grow.
But every roadblock hides a lesson. And the most important one I learned is that in a genuine people-first environment, teams and individuals will find a way to thrive. And, when people thrive, efficiency, productivity and tangible results are never far behind.
The concept is simple: Bespoke support, when you need it.
Putting people first
For many small businesses, putting people ahead of profit can seem like an unaffordable luxury.
With zero budget, scant time in the calendar and countless plates endlessly spinning, it's not easy to engage and motivate other people day in, day out.
However, I know firsthand that with the right skills and support in place, it can be done! Leaders can reach their full potential, teams and emerging talent can thrive, and risks can be proactively mitigated. I started HEvans People Services to share this experience, knowledge and insight with small businesses and leaders that don’t have People support in-house.
How I ended up here, talking to you
When I was younger and people asked me where I hoped my career would take me, I’d reply: "I'm not sure...but I know I'm good with people".
I worked in hospitality roles, admin roles, customer service roles, global teams, corporate teams...until I finally found my happy place as People and Operations Director of two linked small-medium enterprises. The impact I made throughout my tenure by “being good with people” was profound.
And so, in 2024, I made the leap and set up HEvans People Services. My "why" is simple: I want to play my part in helping businesses, teams and individuals to thrive through people power. I hope to bridge the gap between big business - huge budgets, deep pockets and the monopoly on recruiting talent - and the smaller businesses striving every day to create something magical without the luxury of in-house People roles.
I offer a variety of services, which can be tailored to the individual, team or business in question.
Because everyone’s needs are different, I offer a free 30-minute introductory call, during which we simply talk.
Then, during the Discovery phase, we identify together the key areas in which you feel you need support. I’ll go away, have a ponder, and send over a proposal outlining how I can help.
On the rare occasion that I don't feel we're a good fit, or my skill set doesn’t match what you need, I will be honest and transparent.
I will always charge fair prices, and give 100% effort in every interaction.
My default is to offer ad hoc, pay-as-you-go services, in order to meet your changing requirements and budget, and to accommodate special projects as they arise. For key clients, I can also offer a retained service for a monthly fee.
With HEvans People Services, you will always deal with me. There’s no army of consultants waiting in the wings to take over; it’s about the rapport that we build together and about me taking time to get to know your business from the outside in.
